Two great resources to help families better understand Smarter Balanced test scores

Every year, parents receive their child's score report at home. Now what? We've got two great resources to help families understand better what it all means, especially with the new Smarter Balanced assessments.

First, download our infographic and watch the accompanying video on charting a student's path from middle to high school. Second, see the new Washington Test Guide, brought to you by our partners, GreatKids. It's available in English and Spanish and provides you information on how to help your child in school and what questions to ask his or her teacher.

State, district and school level results are available at the State Report Card at reportcard.k12.wa.us.

Skipping remedial courses saves students time and money
Washington 11th graders who score a Level 3 or above on Smarter Balanced tests can skip remedial math and English courses at state colleges/universities. Seventy-four percent of this year's incoming high school juniors met the college-and-career-ready standard on the Smarter Balanced ELA test. Learn more here.
