NGRVSD Board of Director Goals

Vision:

  1. The Board will foster a learning environment that emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that educational practices reflect a wide range of perspectives and cultures.
  2. The Board will integrate modern technology and digital resources into the curriculum, preparing students for the evolving 21st-century landscape.
  3. The Board will focus on the holistic development of students, emphasizing their emotional, social, and physical well-being, alongside academic excellence.
  4. The Board will establish clear pathways and resources for students to explore various post-graduation options, ensuring they are well-prepared for their chosen paths.
  5. The Board will regularly assess the progress of the School District and adapt goals as needed, emphasizing a dynamic and responsive educational system.

Structure:

  1. The Board will develop a comprehensive plan to maintain and upgrade school facilities with an emphasis on environmental sustainability when able.
  2. The Board will ensure that all educators undergo continuing professional development to stay abreast of the latest educational trends and methodologies.
  3. The Board will foster open and transparent communication, implementing regular feedback mechanisms to align with the needs of students, staff, and the broader community.
  4. The board will assess the existing condition of school facilities and identify where safety improvements might be pursued. The goal should be that the school is: 
    • Structurally sound and resilient to seismic events
    • Fire safe
    • Secure against intruders and threats
    • Free of environmental contamination (i.e. from historic building materials, leaks/mold)

Advocacy:

  1. The Board will promote strong ties with the community through regular town hall meetings, surveys, and forums to gather input, address concerns, and ensure that Board decisions reflect the collective voice of stakeholders.   
  2. The Board will advocate for education policies and funding at the local, state, and national levels that align with the District's needs and priorities.
  3. The Board will continue to encourage greater parental involvement, fostering a collaborative and supportive educational environment.

 

Accountability:

  1. The Board will receive an annual update regarding assessment of student test data to assist in evaluating the vision of student achievements.
  2. The Board will review academic programs as needed, based on achievement data, feedback mechanisms, and public feedback.
  3. The Board will identify academic successes and challenges, supporting planning and initiatives that cater to the dynamic needs of the student community.
