Greetings! We are happy to welcome everyone back to another exciting year of learning, growing, and achieving. My staff and I would like to extend a warm welcome to both familiar faces and new members of our school community. Our dedicated team of educators and staff have been working diligently the last few weeks and over the summer to prepare to engage and inspire our students as we embark on the 2023-24 school year. Our mission remains the same: to provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive and experience success. To achieve this, we have set several overarching goals for the upcoming year:
1. Academic Excellence: We are committed to promoting a culture of academic excellence by providing rigorous and relevant curriculum, differentiated instruction, and innovative teaching methods that cater to the diverse learning styles of our students.
2. Character Development: We believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals with strong character. We will continue to emphasize values such as respect, empathy, responsibility, and integrity.
3. Equity and Inclusion: We are dedicated to creating an environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported, regardless of their background, abilities, or interests.
4. Community Engagement: We believe that a strong partnership between the school, parents, and the community is essential for our students' success. We encourage open communication, collaboration, and active participation in school events and initiatives.
5. Technology Integration: We recognize that in an increasingly digital world, the importance of preparing our students for the future is paramount. We will continue to integrate technology into the curriculum, equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.
6. Wellness and Mental Health: We believe that the well-being of our students is of utmost importance. We are committed to providing resources and support that promote positive mental health and overall wellness.
I encourage you all to join us in our pursuit of these goals. Together we can create an environment that fosters a love for learning, empowers students to reach their full potential, and prepares them to become responsible citizens. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or any of my staff if you have any questions or concerns. It is a privilege to begin my eleventh year as Superintendent of the Naselle-Grays River Valley School District. Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege and duty of educating your children.
